Ekiti State Coordinator of a volunteer group “I will vote Atiku”, Dr. Babajide Ogunjana on Wednesday took a swipe on Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Yekini Nabena over a statement by the former APC spokesman that “PDP is in dilemma on how to source fund to run the Atiku Presidential Campaign”.
Babajide in a chat with newsmen in Ado Ekiti Wednesday evening said rather than belabouring himself on PDP, Atiku and their wealth, Nabena should rue the loss of goodwill that his party has suffered in the last three and a half years such that Nigerians no longer want to associate with their name and brand.
Babajide said rather than Nabena bordering himself over how PDP will raise campaign fee, he should be more concerned about how ordinary Nigerians on the street are rejecting the APC’s #10,000 “MarketMoni”, a program originally designed as an indirect means of inducing the electorate prior the 2019 general election.
“Are you aware majority of traders in Lagos who collected the money said no amount of back door greek gift will make them change their mind as per who to vote in 2019? I think that should be of more concern to Nabena and his paymasters than whether or not a former vice president and successful businessman has the financial muscle, resources and connections needed to prosecute a general election.
“PDP is not a party of paupers, our party can to a great extent boast of men and women who are financially blessed. Our candidate, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is not the type that hypocritically goes cap in hand begging for #27m nomination fee across the country even when all his children school abroad. Our candidates are successful business men of repute whose successes in their private lives will in no distant time rub off on the country’s economy and fortune”, Babajide said.
