The Governor of Cross River state, Prof. Ben Ayade has declared that his desire to seek reelection is not for pecuniary interest but solely for the growth and prosperity of the state.
He said the state has enjoyed massive infrastructural development in his first term and would like to consolidate on the gains and make it an Eldorado’ of sort.
Ayade disclosed this Wednesday while commissioning the campaign office of a support group the “Grassroot Alliance for Ayade ” in Calabar.
According to the Governor, “My decision to seek for second term is never a selfish desire cast in the chase for personal gains, but it is a genuine dream that is anchored on growth and prosperity of our dear state.
” I do not seek to be re-elected in 2019 because of personal aggrandisement or desperate desire to remain in power at all cost, but it is due to the love I have for my people and the state at large”, he stated.
Ayade maintained that having transformed the state in the last few years, it was only proper for the people to reciprocate his commitment to the development of the state by voting massively for him to return in 2019 and complete the laudable projects initiated.
Speaking further, Ayade noted that his administrations development plan was carefully designed to eradicate poverty by creating employment, building massive infrastructure, opening up rural areas and improving the quality of life of all Cross Riverians.
He assured that if give a second chance, he will not rest on his oars but work to improve on what he has done and is presently doing to justify the confidence repose in him by the people.
The Governor commended members of the Grassroot Alliance for Ayade for believing in him and investing their time, resources and energy in campaigning for his reelection.
Earlier, leader of the group,who donated the campaign office for Ayade’s reelection, Nsa Ekpeyong Asuquo,said his motivation to support Ayade’s reelection is hinges on his determination to industrialize Cross River state.
