Sequel to her receiving the prestigious African Role Model Award by the African Trade Centre, Her Excellency Justice Suzzette Nyesom Wike attended the Widows Development Organization session, a UN CSW62 parallel event as the Special Guest of honour.
The event which was focused on Confronting Female Violence and Vulnerabilities had a global audience in attendance. Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike who gave an excellent delivery of the keynote address called for the domestication of the child’s rights act by states yet to do so within Nigeria.
She charged African women present at the UN CSW62 session to return home and impact positively on the lives of women and girls in the rural areas. She reiterated the need for an early start in the reorientation of the girls to imbibe positive values and self confidence in them. While calling on those still involved in harmful widowhood practices to desist from such acts.
