The Commissioner of police, Imo State Police Command, CP Chris Okey Ezike has asked the citizens of Imo State and general public to continue to patronize the whistle blowing policy of the Nigeria Police Force, as enacted by the National Assembly and assented to by the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a press statement made available to Ifeanyicy.com today September 7th, 2017 at the Imo State Police Command headquarters, Owerri while addressing newsmen during the Parade of kidnapping/Armed Robbery/Murder suspects of Rev. Fr Cyriacus Onunkwo and others, CP Ezike said: “I wish to appeal to the generality of the citizens of Imo State to continue to patronize our whistle blowing policy. As we have entered the ember months, the challenges may become increasingly visible but we assure Imolites of our capacity, capability and determination to continue to make Imo State safe and secure.
Criminal impunity has a price and with renewed vigour and zeal, criminals may pay the price sooner than expected.” Continuing, the firebrand Police Boss reiterated that the “Police Command under his watch has made major breakthroughs in criminal investigation leading to the arrest of dare-devil suspected criminals, recovery of exhibits and dismantling of the various criminal gangs/cells.” However, he said, “he was pained by the fact that some of the activities of the enemies of the society have brought sadness, anxiety and general apprehension to Nigerians especially with the abduction and murder of Catholic Priest, Rev Fr Cyriacus Onunkwo of Umuotuasi village, Osina in Ideato North LGA of Imo State on 1st September, 2017 at Bannana Junction Orlu, Imo State.”
