The Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Legislative Matters, Honourable Ogbonda Jones, has charged the electorate in ward 19 Phalga to see the reelection of Governor Wike as a huge responsibility to them.
Honourable Ogbonda, who doubles as the leader of the PDP in Ward 19 Phalga, gave the charge when the campaign trail of the Governorship candidate and the Port Harcourt State Constituency (I) candidate of the PDP for the State Assembly Election, Governor Wike and Honourable Solomon Wami respectively, returned to Ward 19 Phalga ahead of the rescheduled Governorship and State Assembly Elections in the State, to canvass for votes.
He said: “We must see the Saturday’s as a responsibility…..We have a mandate to deliver a minimum of 250 votes from each of the 43 Polling Units in our Ward to enable us reelect/return the Governor to the brick house to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy, from His Excellency, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, in terms of projects delivery and appointments.”
He commended the people for coming out en masse to vote for the PDP in the National Elections which held on the 23rd of February 2019, and sensitised the people on the way of voting right, without voiding their votes, to avoid the several mistakes most voted made in the National Election which led to the invalidation of most of the votes of the PDP.
On her part, Mrs Tina Worluchor, a member of the Rivers State Pension Board and a stakeholder in the Ward called on the Women to convert their huge number to votes for the Governor and the State Assembly candidate to prove to the Governor that they are solidly behind him.
Mr Emeka Ndah, Coordinator of the the Wike Solidarity Movement (WSM) in Ward 19 Phalga assured of a 100 percent vote for Governor Wike and Honourable Solomon Wami.
Mr Ted Boms, a leader in the Ward and Deputy Chairman of the PDP in Phalga Ward 19, advised the people to go back homes and become ambassadors of the PDP disseminating the gospel of the PDP to their neighbours, family members and friends. He told the people not to be afraid because the elections would end in victory for the PDP as it was the case in 2015.
On behalf of the PDP Phalga Campaign Council, the Rector Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Port Harcourt and Coordinator of the Campaign Council, Dr Sam Bererememam Kalagbor, said they were not in the Ward to campaign but to thank the people for delivering all the 43 polling units to the PDP in National Elections. He called on the people to replicate same feat on the 9th of March 2019, by delivering the 43 polling units to Governor Wike and Honourable Solomon Wami.
